Deodar walked quietly into the kitchens. She had sneaked down after putting her "nephew" to bed. She made her way over to a large lump under a dish cloth. A pleasant smell was wafting up her nostrils. It smelled like a turnip and carrot pasty. She put her hand on the cloth. It was still warm. Aeoris or a kitchen helper must have just baked this. She slowly pulled the cloth off and picked up a knife that wasn't too far away.

John followed Deodar into the kitchen. He then saw Deodar cutting up a piece of pasty. "Mind if I have half of that Deodar."

Kipcha heard them, she was standing around the kitchen, missing the way Zamoran and Horden would sneak snacks and drinks. "Perhaps you'd like to share some of that pasty with me Deodar?" she asked smiling.

(I thought Horden was still alive? Also how does she know the Zamoran is dead yet?)
John turned to see Kipcha. "Hello abbess what are you doing up so late."
